Kano Pillars FC's standout forward, Auwalu Ali Malam, has set his sights on replicating the remarkable form he showcased during the 2019/2020 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season as he prepares for the upcoming 2024/25 campaign.
The prolific forward, who consistently found the back of the net week after week in the 2019/2020 season and finished among the league's top scorers, delivered a stellar performance in the Gusau/Ahlan Pre-Season Tournament’s second Group C match against Discovery Academy.
Captaining Sai Masu Gida in the absence of club legend Rabiu Ali, Auwalu scored twice, securing the team’s first victory in the ongoing tournament held in Jos, Plateau State.
In a post-match interview, Auwalu expressed his commitment to bringing even more firepower to the upcoming season.
"The fans should expect a rejuvenated Auwalu Ali Malam. With performances like this, I can confidently say the 2024/25 season will be a different ball game," Auwalu declared.
He also called on the club’s passionate supporters to continue their prayers for the team's success as they gear up for the challenges of the 2024/25 season.
Kano Pillars FC will next take on fellow NPFL side Lobi Stars FC on Sunday, with a place in the last eight of the competition at stake.
