Kano Pillars Football Club, popularly known as Sai Masu Gida, has arrived in the city of Jos with a strong contingent of 40 players to participate in the 3rd edition of the Gusau/Ahlan Preseason Tournament.
The prestigious tournament, widely regarded as a key preparatory event ahead of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, has drawn top teams from across the country. Kano Pillars FC has been placed in Group C, where they will face Discovery Talent Academy of Kebbi State, Mighty Jets FC of Jos, and fellow NPFL side Lobi Stars of Makurdi.
According to the fixtures released by the tournament organizers, Kano Pillars will kick off their campaign on Thursday, August 22nd, against Discovery Talent Academy.
This will be followed by a clash with Nigeria National League side Mighty Jets FC on Friday, August 23rd. The team will round off their group stage matches with a highly anticipated encounter against Lobi Stars on Sunday, August 25th.
Under the guidance of newly appointed Technical Adviser, Coach Usman Abdallah, Sai Masu Gida will use this tournament as an opportunity to fine-tune their strategies and assess player readiness ahead of the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League season, which is scheduled to commence on August 31st, 2024.
