The management of Kano Pillars FC, a Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) giant, has granted a one-week recess to the players and technical crew during the mid-season break of the 2024/25 campaign.
The break, which began on Monday, 30th December 2024, will conclude on Monday, 6th January 2025, with training set to resume immediately afterward.
The four-time NPFL champions have played 18 matches out of a possible 19 in the first stanza of the league, with an outstanding fixture against Enyimba International FC yet to be played.
Sai Masu Gida currently sit 8th on the log, having amassed 25 points from their outings.
Upon resumption, the team will kick off the second stanza with a crucial home game against El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri on Match Day 20. This will be followed by a challenging away trip to the Southwest to face Ikorodu City in Match Day 21. The team aims to build on their performance in the first half of the season to secure a stronger position on the league table.
In a statement, the Chairman of the club, Alhaji Ali Muhammad Umar, advised the players to use the break not only to recharge but also to celebrate the New Year responsibly. He further urged them to be good ambassadors of the club, upholding its values and reputation wherever they find themselves.
The management emphasized that the mid-season break is an opportunity for the team to refocus on the task ahead, with the ultimate goal of returning Kano Pillars FC to the summit of Nigerian football. Fans are equally encouraged to rally behind the team as they push for a successful second half of the season.
The Media and Communications Directorate of the club has assured supporters of timely updates and comprehensive coverage of the team's activities as preparations resume for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.
