The National Coordinator of the Beach Soccer League, Mr. Mahmud Hadejia, on Monday, confirmed that Kaduna State is ready to host the NBSL Super 4 Finals, starting from July 4.
In a statement on Monday, Hadejia disclosed that the management of the league expects a hitch-free competition.
"We are currently in Kaduna to continue engaging our hosts, the Kaduna State Government, as we prepare for one of the best NBSL Super 4 Finals, with action starting from the 4th to the 6th of July 2024."
"Three teams are already in Kaduna as we speak. Former champions and hosts, Kada Beach Soccer Club, and defending champions, Kebbi Fishers Beach Soccer Club, arrived in Kaduna last Sunday for a 10-day training camp.
"The NBSL debutants making their first appearance in the Super 4 Finals, Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors, also arrived on Wednesday, while Kebbi United Beach Soccer Club is expected over the weekend.
"I can assure you that we will have an exceptional NBSL Super 4 Finals."
Mahmud, the coordinator of the NBSL, who also serves as the President of the African Beach Soccer Union (ABSU), took the opportunity to thank the media for their ongoing support in promoting beach soccer in Nigeria.
He also outlined the media strategy leading up to the NBSL Super 4 Finals scheduled in Kaduna from July 4-6, 2024.
"I want to sincerely thank and appreciate the media immensely for the good work you all have been doing in promoting the game of beach soccer on all your various platforms. It's really commendable, and we in the NBSL appreciate you all."
Mahmud assured increased engagement and content across all social media platforms and encouraged further support from the media, emphasizing the need for creative visibility, including video clips, game highlights, and statistics from the finals.
He emphasized that beach soccer is a media event, and the role it plays is critical to the sport and cannot be taken lightly.
"I must sincerely say that I am happy for all the points raised on how we can do better going forward in terms of getting more content and creating more visibility for the NBSL.
"It's all for us to do because we will put out stats, video highlights, and more."
Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) President Isaiah Benjamin commended the efforts of the NBSL and the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) for reintroducing the National Beach Soccer team (Super Sand Eagles).
He pledged SWAN's full support for the upcoming NBSL Super 4 Finals in Kaduna and urged SWAN members to enhance publicity efforts to raise awareness of beach soccer among Nigerians.
"It has been a fruitful deliberation here tonight to plan ahead for the Nigeria Beach Soccer League NBSL Super 4 Finals to be staged in Kaduna this coming week.
"I want to call on my members to kindly rally around the coverage of the Super 4 Finals from beginning to end."
"I must sincerely give kudos to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for recognizing what the NBSL has done in the last 4 years by returning the Super Sand Eagles to international competition. I know that Nigeria will secure the Beach Soccer AFCON Ticket after they engage Mauritania in the two-legged encounter."
