Juventus targets Ademola Lookman after PSG exits race

Posted : 08 April 2025

Last summer, Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman attracted the attention of Paris Saint-Germain, though a deal failed to come through. Despite that, reports suggest that the French giants were still monitoring the Nigerian international ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Recent updates from Italian journalists Matteo Moretto and Fabrizio Romano, cited by Viva El Fútbol, indicate that Lookman remains a player of interest for PSG. However, they’re not the only ones in pursuit. Serie A rivals Juventus have also emerged as serious contenders for the 27-year-old’s signature, setting up a potential transfer battle.

In England, several Premier League clubs have expressed interest in Lookman as well. Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle United, and Tottenham Hotspur have all been tracking the forward, with club scouts reportedly attending multiple Atalanta fixtures to observe his performances up close.

West Ham United have joined the growing list of suitors, according to TEAMtalk, adding more competition in the race. With such widespread interest, Atalanta are said to be demanding a transfer fee exceeding £60 million, reflecting the player’s form and growing reputation.

Romano also reported that Lookman is open to a move away from Atalanta, following a rumored fallout with manager Gian Piero Gasperini. This development has intensified transfer talks as the summer window approaches.

Interestingly, PSG may have pulled out of the chase after securing the signing of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, opening the door for Juventus and the Premier League sides to press ahead. Meanwhile, Barcelona have reportedly entered the mix as they look to reinforce their attacking options.

TuttoAtalanta previously noted that Liverpool are keeping a particularly close eye on Lookman, with the winger viewed as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah should the Egyptian depart Anfield when his contract expires.
