Juventus Manager Urges Team to Step Up Following Bremer's Injury

Posted : 05 October 2024

Gleison Bremer's recent injury has left a significant mark on Juventus, prompting manager Thiago Motta to call for his team to step up in the defender's absence. Bremer, who had been a key player and participated in every match this season, suffered a serious anterior cruciate ligament injury during the midweek Champions League match against RB Leipzig. His potential season-ending injury has raised concerns about the team's defensive line and overall performance for the remainder of the campaign.

Motta expressed his disappointment for Bremer, highlighting the player's remarkable human qualities and technical skills. In a press conference before the team's upcoming match against Cagliari, the manager emphasized the importance of Bremer to the squad. He urged his players to embrace the responsibility of filling the gap left by their injured teammate. "From now on we will all give something more," Motta stated, emphasizing a collective effort in support of Bremer's situation.

In addition to Bremer, Motta will also be missing several key players, including forward Timothy Weah, winger Nicolas Gonzalez, and midfielder Vasilije Adzic, alongside long-term absentee Arkadius Milik. Despite these challenges, the manager remains optimistic about the resilience of his squad. He believes that those stepping in will rise to the occasion and contribute significantly to the team's efforts in their home game against Cagliari. "Whoever comes in, I am convinced they will give something more," Motta assured, underlining a commitment to maintaining a positive mindset.

As Juventus gears up for their match, they carry the momentum of their recent European successes, having overcome early setbacks against RB Leipzig. Motta is keen to harness this enthusiasm while ensuring his players remain grounded. He noted the importance of using their positive energy to train and perform effectively on the pitch. While the future of French midfielder Paul Pogba remains uncertain due to his recent suspension, Motta emphasized that his primary focus lies with the immediate needs of his team. "Now I'm focused on tomorrow's game, and everything else doesn't matter much to me at this moment," he concluded.
