Werder Bremen announced through their official website that Justin Njinmah, eligible to play for the Super Eagles, has signed a new contract, committing his future to the club. The lightning-fast forward has extended his deal, which was set to expire in 2026. As per club policy, the financial details and length of the contract have not been disclosed.
During the past season, Njinmah played 24 games for Werder Bremen, scoring six goals and providing two assists. The 23-year-old initially joined Werder Bremen's U23 team from Holstein Kiel in 2021.
After an 18-month loan spell with Borussia Dortmund U23s starting in January 2022, he returned to Werder Bremen in the summer of 2023.
Expressing his satisfaction with the new agreement, Njinmah stated, "I feel at home in this team and in Bremen. The atmosphere during home games is amazing. We have a good team that made significant progress last year. Personally, I feel very comfortable at Werder and believe I can continue advancing in my career here. That's why I've chosen to extend my contract."
Njinmah missed Werder Bremen's final eight matches of the 2023-2024 season due to injury. Born in Hamburg, he is eligible to represent Nigeria through his father, in addition to his native Germany.
