Jurgen Klopp Acknowledges the Enormous Task at Liverpool

After being crushed by Real Madrid, Jurgen Klopp said Liverpool had a "huge task" to qualify for the Champions League again, and there are growing signs that this could be the end of an era for his team.
Three weeks ago, the Reds were smashed 5-2 at Anfield, and this was Liverpool's worst-ever Champions League aggregate loss thanks to a late strike from Karim Benzema at the Bernabeu.
If Liverpool's form doesn't improve, they won't even be in the Champions League next season. They were champions in 2019 and were defeated in the finals just one year ago.
“We prepared for a special performance but we were not able to put it out on the pitch tonight. It was obvious. Nobody is thinking, 'how did Liverpool go out?” Klopp said.
They are losing the front three that helped them reach three Champions League finals in five years. In addition to Roberto Firmino departing at the end of the current campaign, Sadio Mane moved for Bayern Munich last summer. There is only Mohamed Salah remaining.
James Milner, who began at the Bernabeu, is 37 years old, while captain Jordan Henderson becomes 33 at the end of the current campaign.
