Jude Bellingham to withdraw from England squad due to injury
Posted : 30 May 2023
Jude Bellingham is apparently planning to leave the most recent England team due to concerns that he would require surgery for a knee injury.
Bellingham is in excellent shape and played a key role in Borussia Dortmund extending the Bundesliga title fight to the last day. However, Bellingham is expected to miss some time due to a right knee injury.
He was unable to play in Dortmund's season-ending match against Mainz due to the aforementioned injury, thus he was forced to sit on the sidelines and see the drama.
Bellingham will not be able to participate in either of England's two Euro 2024 qualifying games in June as a result of the injury, and according to sources, surgery may be necessary for him to fully heal.
He has started the Three Lions' previous ten games and is increasingly showing up first on Gareth Southgate's teamsheet, so he will surely be missed against Malta and North Macedonia.
The intended transfer of the midfielder to Real Madrid, which is anticipated to be disclosed in the upcoming weeks, is not likely to be delayed by the injury.
The two clubs have agreed on an agreement for £108 million ($133 million), of which £87 million ($107.4 million) is guaranteed, and a further £21 million ($26 million) in performance-related add-ons.
