Jude Bellingham, the talented midfielder from England, expressed his overwhelming emotions upon learning about Real Madrid's interest in signing him.
Bellingham, who is only 19 years old, recently completed his move from Borussia Dortmund to the Spanish club for an initial fee of 103 million euros (£88.5 million), which could potentially rise to 133.9 million euros (£115 million) with additional incentives.
During his presentation as a Real Madrid player, Bellingham reflected on his reaction to the news, stating, "I had always been aware of the interest from England, so that wasn't entirely surprising. However, it caught me off guard when my father sat me down and informed me about the interest from Real Madrid."
He further revealed that this conversation took place approximately 12 to 15 months ago. Bellingham vividly described his overwhelming feelings at that moment, saying, "I experienced goosebumps, and my heart felt like it was about to stop. It's something you never expect while growing up – the opportunity to play for a team of this caliber."
Bellingham's previous transfer to Dortmund from Birmingham City in 2020, for a fee of £25 million, had already set a record as the most expensive signing for a 17-year-old in football history.
His outstanding performances for the German club further solidified his reputation in the sport. At the age of 19, he became Dortmund's youngest captain and was named the Bundesliga's player of the season in the previous campaign.
Before ultimately choosing Real Madrid, Bellingham had been linked with other prominent clubs such as Liverpool, Manchester City, and Manchester United.
