Super Eagles players showcased their cultural pride as they posted pictures donning traditional Nigerian attire during their flight to Ivory Coast for the AFCON tournament. The team is set to compete in Group A against Equatorial Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, and hosts Ivory Coast.
The chosen attire, known as the senator attire, is a popular Nigerian style typically made of plain cotton or cool wool with embroidered details. The modern twist was added using Ankara print, creating a vibrant and contemporary look.
The players, cleared at the airport terminal, brightened the surroundings with their white tops and trousers featuring green flowery designs. Some players complemented the outfit with stylish green hats. The coaching staff, led by Jose Peseiro, also participated in showcasing the cultural attire.
However, Victor Boniface sustained an injury during the camp and will not be part of the competition with the Super Eagles. Terem Moffi has been named as his replacement in the AFCON squad.
