Insurance zooms to the top of 2023/2024 NPFL table after historic win over Plateau Utd FC

It was a perfect start of the last league season's unbeaten team, Bendel Insurance FC as they kept firm on the blazing form on Saturday with a sensational victory over former champions, Plateau United 1-0 at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin to go top of the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier League, NPFL table, in the meantime.

The 2023 Federation Cup champions picked all the three points at stake, courtesy of Benjamin Tanimu’s 14th minute penalty goal.

Despite the goal coming early in the game, the Benin Arsenal failed to consolidate their goals as the visitors resisted all of their efforts and even threatened an equaliser on few occasions.

The win over the Peace Boys has put Insurance on the summit of the league table, perhaps temporarily with 6 points from three matches while their guest, Plateau United are 15th with 3 points.
