Insider reveals Osimhen's conversation with Galatasaray board member, scared

Posted : 18 April 2025

Emre Kaplan, an insider from Galatasaray, has recently shared details about a surprising attempt by Victor Osimhen to contact the club's board member, Ibrahim Hatipoglu, causing some intrigue and mild concern within the club.

Osimhen's future has been a hot topic for months, especially with his loan at the Turkish champions set to conclude on June 30, 2025. The 24-year-old Nigerian forward has attracted attention from top clubs across Europe, including Manchester United, Chelsea, and Juventus, as the transfer window approaches.

According to Kaplan, Osimhen reached out to Hatipoglu while the board member was out of Istanbul for private business. The unexpected phone call left Hatipoglu alarmed, unsure whether it was about a transfer offer or a potential issue within the club.

Kaplan reported that Hatipoglu was quite startled upon seeing Osimhen’s call and even wondered if something serious had occurred. "I was very scared when I saw Osimhen calling," Hatipoglu reportedly said. "I wondered if there was an offer or if something had happened. We are always waiting. Oh no."

However, the tension was soon eased when Hatipoglu returned to Istanbul and met Osimhen in person. Contrary to expectations, the conversation was not about a transfer or a professional matter but about a personal request from the player.

Osimhen explained that he needed help with a personal issue related to his family. "My nephews have arrived, and there is an infrastructure problem; can you help?" Osimhen asked, according to Kaplan’s report. Upon hearing this, Hatipoglu reassured him, saying, "No problem at all."

Despite the dramatic start to the phone call, Osimhen’s intentions turned out to be harmless. The striker has been in excellent form, with 29 goals and six assists from 33 appearances for Galatasaray across all competitions.
