Ikorodu City Football Club Director, Tobi Adepoju, stated on Monday that preparations for the club’s 2024/2025 season are in full swing, adding that the players representing the club next season will be announced soon.
Recall that Ikorodu United gained promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) last season after spending several years in the Nigeria National League (NNL).
Regarding why the newly promoted team has yet to register players for the 2024/2025 NPFL season, Adepoju explained that the club is waiting for the NPFL transfer window to open.
According to the Director, the league body has not yet commenced player registrations for the upcoming season.
He added that Oga Boys will make an official announcement regarding the players who will participate in the league, following their promotion from the lower division.
He said: "The NPFL transfer window is not open yet for player registrations. I believe this will happen this week.
"We have not registered any players at Ikorodu City yet. We have our style and what we want to do.
"At the right time, we will take the necessary actions and communicate our season squad to the fans and media, as we always do in the NNL."
Recall that the club, established in 2022, played three seasons in the second division Nigeria National League (NNL) and has now gained promotion to the top-flight NPFL.
