Ikorodu City, First Bank, Inter Lagos, others, qualify for Q-finals

Posted : 18 February 2025

The battle for the ultimate title as champions of the 2024/2025 Lagos State President Federation Cup has reached the last eight, with three more hurdles to the championship game.

As expected, the competition has produced some shocking results from the rookie stage to the Round of 32, where some big names fell by the wayside, which is characteristic of the oldest competition in Nigeria.

Unsurprisingly, three non-league sides—Box-To-Box FC, Nath Boys FC, and Seamoriow FC—have joined the bigger teams from the NPFL and NNL, such as defending champions Ikorodu City, First Bank FC, Sporting Lagos FC, 1472 FC, and Inter Lagos FC, in the quarter-finals.

Speaking about the crucial last-eight matches of the competition, Lagos FA Chairman Hajji Gafar Liameed assured that the organization of the competition would improve further in terms of officiating, discipline, and the standard of play during the remaining matches.

In one of the last-eight fixtures, Ikorodu City FC will play Seamoriow FC in a game dubbed "David against Goliath."

Other games will see another non-league side, Box-To-Box FC, face off against Sporting Lagos FC, and First Bank FC square up against another non-league side, Nath Boys FC. Meanwhile, NNL sides 1472 FC and Inter Lagos FC will also battle for semi-final tickets.
