Ighalo highlights struggles with two toughest defenders ever
Posted : 17 October 2023
Former Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo revealed that Ahmed Hegazi, formerly of West Brom, and Ali Al-Bulayhi from Al-Hilal were the most challenging defenders he faced in the Saudi Pro League.
Hegazi, playing for Al-Ittihad since 2020, and Ali Al-Bulayhi, a Saudi Arabia international with over 175 appearances for Al-Hilal, stood out as formidable opponents according to Ighalo.
After departing Manchester United, Ighalo played for Saudi Pro-League clubs Al-Shabab and Al-Hilal before joining Al-Wahda in the summer transfer window. He earned the title of top scorer for the 2021-2022 season, establishing himself as one of the premier strikers in the Saudi Pro League.
Ighalo mentioned his intense battles with Hegazi and Al-Bulayhi, comparing them to a form of 'wrestling.' He specifically praised their defensive prowess during his time at Al-Shabab and described Al-Bulayhi as a close and formidable adversary.
He continued his scoring form this season, registering six goals in eight appearances for his new club, Al-Wahda.
