Igbajo United FC wins Osun President Federation Cup

Igbajo United Football Club emerged victorious in the Osun State edition of the 2025 President Federation Cup after a narrow 1-0 win over Osun United FC on Sunday.  


The highly anticipated final, held at the Lanre Leke Sports Complex, saw both teams battle fiercely, with the first half ending goalless.  


However, in the 70th minute, Igbajo United’s striker Mutiu Babalola converted a crucial penalty to secure the win for the “All For One” boys.  


Osun United FC launched several attacks in search of an equalizer, but Igbajo United’s defense held firm. Goalkeeper Nurudeen Lateef delivered an outstanding performance, making crucial saves to deny Osun United a breakthrough.  


After the match, Igbajo United’s head coach, Sule Isa Eroje, expressed his excitement and gratitude while receiving the championship trophy.  


“I am highly excited and appreciate my players, assistants, and the management of this club for their efforts. We have worked tirelessly to improve our gameplay, and it paid off today,” Eroje said.  


He also acknowledged the Osun State Football Association, the media, and Osun United FC for putting up a strong contest.  


With this victory, Igbajo United FC has secured a spot in the upcoming National President Cup, where they will represent Osun State on a bigger stage.
