How Niger Tornadoes plotted Plateau United's fall

Basking in the euphoria of the surprise away win against Plateau United in the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 3, the coach of Niger Tornadoes FC of Minna, Majin Mohammed, has unraveled the trick that worked for his team.


Mohammed stated that the Ikon Allah Boys implemented a specific strategy that worked against the host Plateau United, securing back-to-back away wins in the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League.


The Ikon Allah Boys defeated Plateau United 2-1 at the New Jos Stadium, extending their unbeaten run in the league in a Match Day 3 encounter.


Mohammed said: "We planned for this win. Our strategy worked perfectly. The players executed their roles exceptionally well.


"We knew Plateau United would push hard, but our defense was solid. This win is a testament to our team's hard work and determination.


"They came to Kaduna and beat us last season, and we always kept this in mind; that's why we prepared so well for them.


"Tornadoes have been playing home matches away from home for a while now, so I can say it has become a mentality for them because they see every away game as a home game."
