Algerian midfielder Houssem Aouar has made a permanent move from AS Roma to Al-Ittihad, the Saudi Pro League club announced on Tuesday. Aouar, who has agreed to a four-year contract with Laurent Blanc's team, joins a midfield that already features N'Golo Kante and Fabinho.
The former Olympique Lyonnais player, who switched his international allegiance from France to Algeria last year, adds significant experience to Al-Ittihad's squad. Aouar played one friendly match for France against Ukraine in 2020 before deciding to represent the country of his parents' birth.
Al-Ittihad welcomed their new signing with a post on X, expressing excitement about the midfielder's arrival. At 26 years old, Aouar's addition is expected to bolster the club's ambitions in the Saudi Pro League.
