Plateau State Football Association Chairman, Honourable Suleiman Yahaya Kwande, has assured Mighty Jets International FC of his association’s support in their fight to return to the elite league after being relegated to the Nigeria National League in 2005.
Suleiman Kwande, who was the Chairman of Mighty Jets International at that time when the club gained promotion to the NPFL in 2004, encouraged the boys to take each match very seriously and always give their all, even as they play away to Elkanemi Warriors of Maiduguri in the second stanza of the season.
The two-time House of Representatives Member and NFF Board Member told the players on their training ground why they should put in their best in every game.
“You guys are very lucky to have a Governor that loves sports and he’s supporting you people. In those days, every player that played in this club knew that they are here to make this place a launching pad with little or no financial incentives.
``The only way to reciprocate the Governor’s gesture towards you is to give your best on the field to return the club back to the Premier League.
“Our visit here as an association that governs football on the Plateau is to tell you and assure you that we will support your promotion drive this season. Our door is open for any assistance always.”
In his response, the Captain of the club, Mohammed Saleh, appreciated the visit and promised that he and his colleagues would give their best in making the promotion dream a reality this season.
Honourable Kwande, who was accompanied to the visit by his Board Members, gave the team a token of ₦100,000 in preparation for the match against Elkanemi Warriors in a very hot Maiduguri on Saturday.
