Hertha Berlin bid farewell to Super Eagles dribbler Ejuke

Following their relegation from the Bundesliga, Hertha Berlin bid farewell to Nigerian forward Chidera Ejuke upon the conclusion of his season-long loan deal with the club.
Ejuke's arrival at Hertha Berlin last summer, on loan from CSKA Moscow, was met with great anticipation.
The Super Eagles' standout talent boasted a formidable reputation, renowned for his mesmerizing dribbling skills that allowed him to elude defenders and penetrate even the most resolute defenses.
Regrettably, Ejuke struggled to replicate his previous exploits in the Bundesliga.
Despite making 21 appearances, he managed only three assists, falling short of expectations.
Additionally, his time at the club was plagued by an injury that sidelined him from December until April, further hampering his ability to make a significant impact on the pitch.
Upon Ejuke's return from injury, Hertha Berlin found themselves on the brink of relegation, desperately seeking salvation.
Unfortunately, the Nigerian forward was unable to conjure the magic necessary to reverse their fortunes, leaving the club with no choice but to accept their relegation fate.
Had Ejuke demonstrated remarkable performances and played a pivotal role in helping Hertha Berlin retain their Bundesliga status, the club might have considered extending his stay.
However, given the circumstances, the decision was made to part ways with the talented Nigerian forward.
Hertha Berlin officially announced his departure, revealing that he will be returning to his parent club, CSKA Moscow.
This development marks the end of Ejuke's brief stint with Hertha Berlin, as he now faces the task of evaluating his options and determining the next chapter of his footballing journey.
The Nigerian international will likely reflect on his time in Germany and seek new opportunities to continue honing his skills and making a lasting impact in the world of football.
"Our thanks go to Chidi, who unfortunately was unable to play the role that we all had hoped in the second half of the season due to injury. We wish him all the best on and off the pitch," Hertha Berlin’s Sporting Director Benjamin Weber said.
