Heartland Queens storm Benin for BOWFT preseason tourney

Heartland Queens FC of Owerri will conclude their preseason tour with the Betsy Obaseki football tournament in Benin.

The Owerri Landladies have been on a preseason tour in preparation for the 2023/2024 NWFL season, and Benin City in Edo State will be the final stop.

Heartland Queens will face their familiar NWFL rivals, Royal Queens, in the opening fixture today at the University of Benin Sports Center. They will subsequently compete against Fortress Queens and FC Robo Queens in Group C.

Heartland Queens defeated Royal Queens twice last season in both home and away matches and aim to build on that success during this preseason tournament.

Royal Queens have also been placed in NWFL Group A, alongside Heartland Queens.

Both teams will also clash in the opening fixtures at Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri.

This meeting will serve as a preview of what to expect when the NWFL officially begins.

The match will be live-streamed on the Heartland Queens Facebook page today at 4 pm for all Heartland Queens fans.
