Heartland International FC continues impressive home form with Doma United win

10-man Heartland FC showed they would like to finish the ongoing Nigeria Premier Football League season as high as possible following their 3-1 home win over Doma United at the iconic Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri on Sunday in a Matchday 35 tie.


Despite being in an unsatisfactory position on the league table, the Naze Millionaires players, complemented by the technical crew led by Christian Obi, brought out the best in them to claim a good win that gladdened the hearts of the home fans.


Heartland's Promise Anyanwu scored the team's first goal in the 28th minute after a good pass from Kelechi Alino.


The visitors equalized in the 53rd minute through Emmanuel Jesam, but the home team reserved the best for last. Barnabas Ingya was in a good position to put Heartland back in the lead in the 64th minute.


The home team was reduced to 10 men following Divine Ukadike's dismissal in the 74th minute after a second bookable offense.


The exit of Ukadike did not demoralize Heartland FC as Ingya again netted in the 76th minute to secure the game for the Naze Millionaires.


Christian Obi's team is on their way to Ikenne for a league game with Remo Stars on Wednesday.
