Heartland FC emerges winner of 2022/2023 NNL

After both teams emerged table toppers in their respective Conferences, Kano Pillars winners of the Northern Conference and Heartland FC winners of the Southern Conference on Friday clashed to determine the eventual winners of the 2022/2023 Nigeria National League winners.

The winners decided at the Stephen Keshi International Stadium Asaba however had Heartland FC of Owerri winners after they spanked bitter rival, Kano Pillars 2-0.

Heartland FC got the goals through Francis Erikan in the 54th minute and Fabian Omaka in the 76th minute.

With the win, Naze Millionaires not only sealed their crown as 2022/2023 winners, but also ended the season unbeaten in the NNL league.

Heartland FC and Kano Pillars joined by Sporting Lagos and Katsina United are now bound for the prestigious Nigeria Premier League next season.
 
Africa Sport Network (ASN) reports that other winners at the finals are Francis Erikan of Heartland FC, who emerged Best Player of the League while Heartland FC's goalkeeper, Chisom Chiaga also went home as the Best Goalkeeper of the League.

The Highest Goal Scorer (Regular Season and Playoffs) went to Akin Solomon of Madiba FC and the Best Behaved Team went the way of Stomers Sporting Club of Abeokuta.
