Harry Wilson's two stoppage-time goals propelled Fulham to a thrilling 2-1 win over local rivals Brentford on Monday. Despite dominating early play, Fulham found themselves trailing after Vitaly Janelt struck a powerful shot past Bernd Leno in the 24th minute, giving Brentford an unexpected lead. Fulham's initial surge lost momentum, and Brentford held firm defensively, keeping their advantage into the final minutes.
Fulham pressed for an equalizer but struggled to break through Brentford's compact defense, even after Emile Smith Rowe squandered a good chance shortly after Janelt’s goal. The home side’s persistence finally paid off deep into added time when substitute Wilson connected with Adama Traore's cross, sending a looping shot over Brentford goalkeeper Mark Flekken for the equalizer. Just minutes later, Wilson found the net again, this time with an attempted header that deflected off his shoulder, catching Flekken off guard and sealing Fulham's comeback.
The win lifts Marco Silva's team to ninth in the standings, placing them just three points shy of the top four. For Brentford, the late defeat means they remain in 12th, missing an opportunity to move into the upper half of the table.
