Gusau/Ahlan Pre Season Tournament: Kano Pillars FC, Doma Utd FC share spoil

Kano Pillars football club shared a point with Doma United football club of Gombe with a 1-1 draw in their first match in this year's Gusau/Ahlan Pre Season Tournament at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium Bauchi.
The game was started with very tactical approach from the both sides and went half-time break goalless.
Mustapha Salisu Musa break the deadlock and Put Sai masu gida ahead in the 64th minutes of play after he received a pass from Abdullahi Musa Tayo inside the sixteen yard box.
At 85th minutes, Usman Musa restored the confidence of Doma United football club with an equalizer after he capitalized in the Kano Pillars football club defensive error.
Kano Pillars football club Technical Adviser Coach Abdu Maikaba on the sidelines of the match expressed satisfaction with performances of both teams and described Doma United Fc as one of the teams that did well in the last Nigeria Professional football league.
He described the game as very good one and very good test to his players despite that its not their plans to start with big game, he said they plans to graduate from smaller game to the bigger one.
He said recently the three warm up friendly they played before traveling to Bauchi was grade C matches.
The soft spoken Coach said the fitness of his players in the game was questionable and they would continue doing more in that direction in order to make them fit before the commencement of the 2023/2024 NPFL season.
We just spent ten days training with team in Kano before this tournament and we have along way to go in order to keep the players fit before the kick Off of the league, Coach Maikaba insisted.
Coach Maikaba said they were in Bauchi to win the tournament but would take each game the way it comes and one after another.
He described the tournament as fantastic and its an avenue for all teams to correct their weaknesses before the commencement of the 2023/2024 Nigeria Professional football league.
And coach Maikaba said their next match against Wikki Tourists football club on Friday at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium Bauchi will not be easy but he has confidence they would win it.
