The management of Rangers International states that the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, has graciously approved the opening of the gates to the Main Bowl of Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, for supporters and fans of the 'Flying Antelopes.' This is as they return to 'The Cathedral' to host old rivals, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), in a Matchday 16 NPFL fixture.
Barrister Amobi Ezeaku, the General Manager/CEO of Rangers International FC, disclosed this information. He further provided details that the sports-loving governor approved the opening of the gates to the club's numerous fans and supporters, who have been deprived of football action for nearly three years, to enjoy the first competitive match at the facility.
"We had initially decided at the management level to sell tickets for the match, but our sports-loving governor of Enugu State, H.E., Dr. Peter Mbah, stated that he would pay for the tickets for our fans who will come out on December 28, 2023, to watch and cheer us to victory against 3SC of Ibadan.
"In other words, the gates will be opened at the request of Dr. Peter Mbah just for the game on December 28.
The governor mentioned that if our fans had patiently awaited our return for more than two years, Rangers should, at the very least, give them the opening match to watch for free."
Recall that the league organizer recently approved the return of Rangers to its original home ground for the remaining part of the season.
