The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) defending champions, Rangers International FC of Enugu, will begin their quest in the 2024/2025 CAF Champions League against US Zilimadjou of Comoros at the iconic Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, on Saturday, Aug. 23.
As reported, the Flying Antelopes may have a slight chance of playing both their home and away games in the preliminary first and second leg at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, after their opponents failed to secure a definite home ground.
Given the current situation, the Comoros club, US Zilimadjou, could adopt the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, as their home ground for the CAF Champions League, as their original home ground failed to meet CAF's specifications.
US Zilimadjou will face Nigeria Premier Football League champions, Rangers, in the preliminary round.
The first leg is now scheduled for Saturday, August 18, while the return leg will take place on Saturday, August 23.
The overall winner of the two-legged encounter will face the winner between Saint Louis and Sagrada Esperanca in the next round.
Rangers, the 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League champions, are currently preparing for the new season in Enugu.
