Goalkeeper Sandy MacIver switches allegiance to Scotland

Goalkeeper Sandy MacIver, who previously represented England, has switched her allegiance to Scotland and has been included in the Scottish squad for their Nations League matches. The Manchester City player, who earned one cap with England, will now don the Scottish jersey. MacIver, born in Winsford, qualifies for Scotland through her father and has shown a strong desire to play for the Scottish national team.
Scotland's manager, Pedro Martinez Losa, has named MacIver in his 23-player squad for the upcoming matches against the Netherlands. This change in allegiance follows the precedent set by Amy Rodgers, a former England Under-21 midfielder, who also switched to play for Scotland and was included in Martinez Losa's previous squad.
The Scottish squad includes new faces like Celtic midfielder Jenny Smith and sees the return of players like Erin Cuthbert, Kathryn Hill, and Jenna Clark. While Scotland is currently at the bottom of their group in the Nations League, they are only three points behind the leaders, Belgium, who will face England. West Ham United's Lisa Evans is set to achieve her 100th cap for Scotland, a milestone she may reach in the upcoming matches against the Netherlands.
