Glasgow Rangers setback in pursuit of Super Eagles forward

Rangers, the renowned Scottish Premiership club, has reportedly faced a setback in their pursuit of Cyriel Dessers, the talented Super Eagles striker, as he expresses his desire to remain in Serie A rather than join the Glasgow-based team during the upcoming summer transfer window.
According to a report from Calciomercato, as cited by Football Scotland, Dessers has firmly made up his mind to continue his football career in Italy and has no intention of moving abroad.
This decision has left Rangers disappointed, who had been strongly linked with the player and even submitted an initial bid to Cremonese.
However, their offer fell short of Dessers' valuation, which stands at £7 million.
Michael Beale, the manager of the Light Blues, had identified Dessers as a potential replacement for Alfredo Morelos, who recently departed the club.
Despite securing the signing of Sam Lammers from Sampdoria, Rangers had considered Dessers as an additional striking option.
In addition to Dessers, Rangers have also been linked with another Super Eagles forward, Josh Maja.
However, Maja's potential departure from French Ligue 2 side Bordeaux is currently facing complications, adding further uncertainty to Rangers' pursuit of Nigerian attacking talent.
While Dessers has seemingly turned down a move to Rangers, he has attracted interest from other clubs.
Torino, based in Turin, have expressed their desire to secure his services, despite his challenging debut season in Italy.
Despite struggling to replicate his prolific form from the Eredivisie, Dessers managed to score 7 goals and provide 2 assists in 29 appearances across all competitions last season.
With Cremonese suffering relegation to Serie B, they aim to recoup more than the €6.5 million they paid Racing Genk for Dessers' services last summer to mitigate the financial losses incurred from their demotion.
