The Super Eagles Team B, also known as the CHAN Eagles, have been drawn against their Ghanaian counterparts in the 2024 Championship for African Nations (CHAN) draw held by CAF, continuing the Jollof rivalry between the two regional football powers.
According to the fixture released by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) after the draw, the Super Eagles will travel to Ghana for the first leg of the encounter between December 20-22, 2024, and will host the second leg in Nigeria between December 27-29, 2024.
The winner of the match over the two legs will qualify for the 2024 CHAN, which is scheduled to be held in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda in early 2025.
A total of 16 teams will qualify for the main tournament, with three teams from each of CAF’s five zones qualifying, while the Central African Zone will have four teams due to the three places secured by the three hosts.
CAF also announced that a sum of two million dollars will be awarded to the winner.
The Super Eagles missed out on the last CHAN competition but finished second in the 2018 edition after winning bronze in the 2014 edition.
The Super Eagles B 2024 class will be coached by the duo of Daniel Ogunmodede and Fidelis Ilechukwu.
