Getafe supporters greeted on-loan Manchester United attacker Mason Greenwood at open training session

Getafe fans warmly received Mason Greenwood, the Manchester United forward currently on loan with their team, during an open training session. The 21-year-old, who has one cap for the England national team, made the move to the Spanish top-flight club on a season-long loan just last Friday.
Earlier, in August, Manchester United had announced that Greenwood would be leaving the club by mutual agreement following a six-month internal investigation. These developments came after criminal charges against the player, which included attempted rape and assault allegations, were dropped in February.
Expressing his excitement about joining Getafe, Greenwood shared his feelings on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), stating, "I'm so happy to be here, and I can't wait to get started."
Greenwood had not participated in any training or matches with Manchester United since his arrest in January 2022, related to allegations surrounding online content.
In a video shared by Getafe's English X account, titled "We love you Mason Greenwood," the player can be seen walking out at Getafe's Coliseum Alfonso Perez stadium in Madrid, where fans cheered him on. The video also captures Greenwood in training alongside his new teammates.
Additional posts on social media reveal enthusiastic fans wearing club shirts with his name on the back and one fan holding a sign requesting his shirt.
The official unveiling of Mason Greenwood by Getafe is scheduled for Tuesday, adding to the anticipation surrounding his tenure with the Spanish club.
