The sports city of Lagos is set for another landmark grassroots football development programme as a German scouting organization, Berlin Sports-Bridge Talent, has assembled about 27 top football academies to discover new talents.
The organizer, MVP Sports Management, in partnership with Berlin Sports-Bridge Talent, Germany, stated that the program was necessary at this critical stage of the players' development cycle.
The Chief Executive Officer, Datti Umar Yusuf, said the program was conceived to provide guidance to many young footballers who are selected during the course of the program.
He mentioned that some board of directors of Berlin Sports Bridge for talents based in Portugal and Germany would be on the ground to assess the players and guide them on the best route to achieving their dreams.
According to the organizers, the MVP will attract 27 academies ready to showcase their talents at the U-19 Africa Football Scouting Tournament scheduled to be held at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, from November 29 to December 3.
Top academies from different parts of Nigeria are expected to engage each other in the tournament, designed to serve as a platform where opportunities to showcase their skills abound.
The clubs on parade include Abray Sports, Synergy Ultimate Strikers, Adosag FC, Dd30 Football Academy, Charlesann FC, Kris Football Academy, Baraka FC, Emiloju FC, Shola FC, and Paddysco FC.
Others include Team 360 FC, China Sun Stars, Moonluck FA, Glorious Day FC, DN10 FA, Turbo Touch FA Kano, Smart City FC, Ikorodu United City FC, Leeds United, Box2Box FC, D Shack FA - Ijebu-Ode, SuperStars FC - Ijebu Ode, and M&N Football Academy Lagos.
Also expected to be on the ground are Ajuwa FC, PPF/YSFON Football Academy, Gifted FC, and Clique Sports FC.
The program has been described as arguably one of the biggest in the country.
