German-born Nigerian teenage sensation secures FIFA's approval to switch nationality

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Tuesday got the approval for the change of nationality of Jordan Torunarigha for the Super Eagles.
Jordan Torunarigha is the son of a former Shooting Stars player, Ojokojo Torunarigha who emigrated to Germany and played for Chemnitzer Football club from 1991 to 1995 and scored five goals in 77 matches for the club.
He played for the Shooting Stars of Ibadan in the late 1980s. His son, Jordan was born in Germany on Aug. 7 1997 and he currently plays for Belgian side, Gent.
He had previously played for the same club his father featured for, Chemnitzer Fußballclub in Germany. He also played as a defender for Hertha BSC in Germany.
The decision of FIFA’s Single Judge of the Players’ Status Chamber regarding the former German Youth Player was approved following request made by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
