Gateway United FC goalkeeper Ibukunoluwa David has revealed that he was looking forward to play in the Nigeria Top flight league (NPFL) in the next season.
The Ondo state born goalkeeper who helped the Abeokuta-based club to finished fourth position on 11 points in the B2 Southern conference standings, in the just concluded Nigeria National League (NNL) season noted he wanted a league more challenging.
Ibukunoluwa said he was looking for the opportunity to play in the NPFL next season.
"Honestly, I'm looking forward to play in the NPFL next season," said Ibukunoluwa.
''Because it has been long since I'm looking for the opportunity to play in one of the best Top-flight leagues in Africa."
"However, to be frank with you, if the opportunity comes then I will grab it with both hands, because I know that it is the platform I need to show the fans how talented I am as a goalkeeper."
The goalkeeper also reacted on the just concluded season, says it was a mixed campaign for the team.
"It was a difficult season for the team, " Ibukunoluwa explained.
"Because, we started well but at some point we had issues which affected the performance of the team."
"However, normally it happens in football but I thank God that we were able to scale through the drop zone at the end of the season."
Ibukunoluwa was one of the standout performers for the season, as he kept four clean sheets and picked one man of the match performance for Gateway United in the 2022/23 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.
