Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray have secured the signing of Przemyslaw Frankowski from Lens as they reinforce their squad before the January transfer window closes. The move comes amid ongoing speculation linking them with Nottingham Forest’s Nigerian defender, Ola Aina.
Frankowski has joined Galatasaray on a loan deal that runs until the end of the 2024-2025 season. The agreement includes a conditional purchase clause, which gives the Turkish giants the option to make the transfer permanent.
If Galatasaray decide to activate the purchase clause in Frankowski’s contract, it is unlikely that they will pursue a deal for Ola Aina when his contract with Nottingham Forest expires at the end of the season.
Similar to Aina, Frankowski is a versatile player capable of operating as a right-back, right wing-back, and left wing-back, providing Galatasaray with multiple options across the defense.
Meanwhile, Aina has entered the final five months of his contract with Nottingham Forest, raising questions about his long-term future at the club. Despite his uncertain status, Forest are eager to keep him and have been engaged in contract negotiations for several months, though no agreement has been reached.
Since arriving at Nottingham Forest on a free transfer in the summer of 2023, Aina has been a key figure in the squad, making 46 Premier League appearances, scoring three goals, and providing two assists.
Unless injury sidelines him, Aina is expected to be included in Nigeria’s Super Eagles squad for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe next month.
