Fulham sign Raul Jimenez for £5 million with Wolves
Posted : 24 July 2023
Fulham is on the verge of signing striker Raul Jimenez from Wolves in a £5 million ($6.42m) deal, according to sources. The 32-year-old player is expected to finalize personal terms, with a medical scheduled for early next week.
Fulham's interest in Jimenez comes amid uncertainty over Aleksandar Mitrovic's future. Mitrovic, frustrated at being denied a move away from the club, is not available for selection. He has expressed a desire to join Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal, who had a £25m bid rejected by Fulham. The club values Mitrovic at over £50m.
Jimenez has been with Wolves since 2018, initially on loan from Benfica, and later joining permanently in 2019. He suffered a nine-month injury setback after fracturing his skull during a match against Arsenal in 2020.
Fulham manager Marco Silva expressed frustration at the lack of signings during the summer, but the potential arrival of Jimenez could mark the club's first signing ahead of the new season.
