Fulham dominated Manchester United, creating numerous goal-scoring chances, Iwobi insists

Alex Iwobi admitted that Fulham had only themselves to blame for their 1-0 loss to Manchester United in a Premier League match last weekend, emphasizing that they dominated the game but failed to capitalize on their chances. Bruno Fernandes scored the game-winning goal for Manchester United in stoppage time, taking advantage of a poor clearance by Joao Palhinha. Iwobi had an opportunity to score in the first half but missed the target with his long-range shot.
In the second half, Fulham asked most of the questions and came close to breaking the deadlock through Harry Wilson and Palhinha, who forced saves from Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana with powerful shots. Despite their dominance, Fulham had an expected goals figure of 1.17, 0.43 more than their opponents, Manchester United.
"We had opportunities to score, and we felt like we were on top of them, especially in the second half," Iwobi explained. "We created many chances and analyzed the game well, but it's the small details that determine the outcome, and unfortunately, Man United took all three points."
After a three-match winless streak in the Premier League, Iwobi and his Fulham teammates are determined to get back to winning ways when they face Aston Villa on Sunday before the international break.
