The Federal Road Safety Corps has won the para-military football tournament by defeating the Nigeria Police 2-0 in the final match played on Saturday in Kaduna.
The 10-day football tournament was organized by the FRSC to celebrate the Corps Marshal’s 100 days in office.
The para-military agencies that participated in the maiden edition of the tournament included the Nigeria Police, Federal Fire Service, NDLEA, and EFCC.
Others included the Nigeria Correctional Service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigerian Immigration Service, and the Federal Road Safety Corps.
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) secured 3rd place by defeating the Nigeria Correctional Service 3-0.
The Sector Commander of the FRSC Kaduna Command, Kabir Nadabo, stated, “In any game, there must be a winner and a loser. The winning team has shown how committed it was to winning the tournament.”
Nadabo emphasized that the tournament aimed to foster more synergy among sister security agencies.
He assured that the tournament would be held every year.
Nadabo concluded, “I am excited about winning the tournament. We are not just lucky; we deserve to win.”
