2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 34: Free scoring Ikorodu City FC travels to Maiduguri for El-Kanemi Warriors clash

Aside from getting good results in the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, another thing that sets Ikorodu City FC apart, despite being debutants, is their goal ratio in each match.


The Oga Boys will look to extend their free-scoring form to Maiduguri as they are set to face the unpredictable El-Kanemi Warriors, a team that has just been eliminated from the 2024/2025 President Federation Cup.


High-flying Ikorodu City, already having the best goal tally in the league (51), head to Maiduguri for a match against a team that has scored fewer goals.


The Lagos club has been one of the stories of the season. In their debut top-flight campaign, they’ve already climbed to fourth place and continue to impress.


El-Kanemi, however, remain inconsistent. A lot has happened in their camp this season, and this game will test their resolve, especially as head coach Aliyu Zubair has been mainly distracted by his national team assignment with the U-20 team.


The Warriors will need to be sharp if they want to avoid being overrun by Ikorodu’s lively attack.

This is the second meeting between both clubs, as Ikorodu City FC had earlier beaten El-Kanemi Warriors 2-0 in Lagos.
