Napoli's interim head coach, Francesco Calzona, has disclosed that the team's attacking duo, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Victor Osimhen, are on the verge of reaching their peak form.
Recent performances from the attacking pair have been noteworthy, with Kvaratskhelia contributing to four goals in his last two games, and Osimhen scoring five goals in his last four appearances.
Despite Osimhen's missed penalty, Giacomo Raspadori's rebound provided relief for the Nigerian striker, securing an essential goal for Napoli. Calzona emphasized the duo's significance as Napoli strives to recover lost ground in Serie A.
Calzona stated, "They are two very strong players, fundamental for this team. They went through a difficult time, but now they are almost back on their levels." He also acknowledged the team's collective effort, praising the readiness of every player to contribute.
With eleven games remaining in the season, Napoli is approaching the European qualification spots, although Calzona tempered expectations. He emphasized the need to expedite the learning process and accumulate crucial points in upcoming matches against Torino and Barcelona.
As of now, Napoli sits in 7th place in Serie A, three points behind Ademola Lookman's Atalanta, who holds the qualification spot for the UEFA Conference League.
