Football enthusiast donates .5M to Victor Ikpeba 5Aside

Posted : 25 December 2023

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Clarkson Marine Services, Mr. Clarkson Raymond, stole the show at the 3rd edition of the Victor Ikpeba 5Aside, where he surprisingly donated a whopping N0.5 million in support of the U-13 category of the 2023 mini soccer event.

Clarkson expressed his satisfaction during the trophy presentation after Great Stars lost to Success Pillars through a penalty shootout following a regulation stalemate in the Under-13 category.

While reacting in an interview, the mariner said he stumbled upon the final through his neighbor, Mr. Marvel Dick, the Chairman of the Delta State Teqbal.

"I never knew that an exciting grassroots football event was taking place here. I just casually joined my friend and neighbor, Marvel Dick, here."

"I was impressed with what I saw, and I felt responsible to support Victor Ikpeba, one of my idol Super Eagles players during his playing days in Monaco."

"In the course of our discussion, I was made to understand that the under-13 category does not have a winning prize since they are minors, so I had to support them to enjoy the festive season with their parents."

"I love football, and I hope my three kids will play professional soccer someday."

In the U-17 category, successful players also emerged as champions, defeating Ichofe Wanderers 4-2.

Chief Oberiri, popularly known as Ibori, also supported the U-17 class with the sum of N50,000.00 after the medal presentation.

The sponsor of the Victor Ikpeba 5Aside commended the LOC, media, the participating teams, and all supporters of the event.

"I marvel at the sudden support we've received. Words are not enough to express my appreciation."
