Owen Goodman, a promising 2023 Flying Eagles invitee, is on the brink of completing a move to Colchester United, an English Football League club, from Crystal Palace.
According to a tweet by Football Insider at 1620 hours, the 19-year-old goalkeeper is currently undergoing a medical examination with the League Two side, although it remains unclear whether the transfer is a loan deal or a permanent move.
Having joined Crystal Palace as a schoolboy, Goodman has progressed through the ranks and represented the U18s as well as the development side.
He has notably made 23 appearances for the young Eagles in the U18 Premier League and an additional 22 appearances in the Premier League 2.
Goodman signed his first professional contract with Crystal Palace in 2021 and secured a contract extension in November 2022.
Although he has yet to make an appearance for the first team, he has been included on the bench four times in the Premier League, with his debut inclusion coming against Wolves in October 2022.
The English-born goalkeeper is eligible to play for Nigeria through his mother and received an invitation to the Flying Eagles camp earlier this year.
However, he declined the call-up, signaling his intention to explore other opportunities in his career.
