Flick Focused on Present as Barcelona Prepares for Bayern Clash

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick has dismissed concerns about the club's recent poor record against Bayern Munich ahead of their Champions League clash. Despite Barcelona's struggles, having lost their last six meetings and failing to score in the last four, Flick emphasized the importance of focusing on the present rather than dwelling on past defeats. He acknowledged Bayern's strength but expressed his determination for Barcelona to rise to the challenge and aim for victory.

 

Flick, who previously managed Bayern to an 8-2 win over Barcelona in the 2020 Champions League quarterfinals, insisted that his time at the German club is behind him. Since taking charge at Barcelona this summer, he has revitalized the team, leading them to the top of La Liga and preparing for two critical matches—against Bayern in the Champions League and Real Madrid in La Liga. Flick noted that his current focus is solely on the upcoming match against Bayern, rather than past memories.

 

When asked about reports of Barcelona potentially playing a match against Atletico Madrid in Miami this December, Flick declined to comment, stating that his attention remains on immediate challenges. The coach underlined his commitment to the present and his new chapter at Barcelona, where he hopes to guide the team through tough fixtures ahead.

 

Flick also praised Bayern Munich as a team brimming with confidence and great players, acknowledging that the match will be a true test for Barcelona. Despite the high stakes, he remains confident in his squad’s abilities and is looking forward to a competitive match against his former club.
