The Flamingoes defeated Germany to clinch bronze at the India 2022 U-17 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The coach stated that the team had been training diligently in camp since last month in preparation for the World Cup.
“All units of the team, including goalkeepers, attackers, defenders, midfielders, and strikers, have been undergoing rigorous training.
“We don’t want to leave any stone unturned; we have been training daily to correct all the lapses observed in the last edition of the championship.
“We are praying and hopeful that our efforts will be fruitful. With God on our side, we will make the country proud.
“We urge Nigerians to support us with prayers so that we can be victorious and return home with the desired results,” he said.
The coach mentioned that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has provided the necessary support to ensure the team is comfortable enough to achieve good results.
“The NFF is supporting us with everything we need. What we need now is fatherly and motherly advice to help us excel.
“This is an Under-17 team; there are some areas where we might be going wrong, and we need corrections to become better.
“With seriousness, determination, a high level of discipline, and dedication, the girls will excel in the World Cup,” he said.
The Flamingoes have been drawn in Group A of the finals alongside host nation and debutant Dominican Republic, Ecuador, and New Zealand.
Matches will be played in two Dominican cities: Santo Domingo, at the Felix Sanchez Stadium, and at the CFC Stadium in Santiago de los Caballeros.
The 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup will be the eighth edition of the championship. The tournament will end on November 3.
