Fiorentina fullback inspired by Man Utd, Man City, PSG stars

Michael Kayode, the promising Flying Eagles-eligible fullback, has recently achieved success by winning the European U19 Championship with Italy, where he emerged as a key contributor by scoring the decisive goal in the final against Portugal. 

Inspired by some of the best right-backs in the world, the Fiorentina player looks up to Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Manchester United, Kyle Walker from Manchester City, and Achraf Hakimi from Paris Saint-Germain.

As transfer rumors circulate regarding Hakimi's potential move to Manchester City, who are eyeing him as a possible replacement for Walker, the admiration for the Moroccan star continues to grow. 

Kayode acknowledges their talent and the impact they have in their respective teams, recognizing them as role models for his own development.

Despite primarily being a defender, the Borgomanero native displayed an impressive scoring prowess last season, notching six goals for Fiorentina's Primavera squad while also providing two assists. 

In an exclusive interview with Corriere dello Sport, via firenzeviola, Kayode expressed his admiration for his role models, mentioning Walker, Wan-Bissaka, and Hakimi as sources of inspiration for his playing style.

Having received eleven call-ups for Serie A matches last season, the 19-year-old Kayode expressed his eagerness to make his debut in Italy's top-flight league. 

Embracing the opportunity to play for Fiorentina, he appreciates the club's commitment to developing young talent and eagerly awaits his chance to showcase his skills in Serie A.

Prior to joining Fiorentina in 2021, Kayode honed his skills at the youth teams of Juventus and Gozzano, further demonstrating his dedication to his football career.
