Nigeria has moved up one place to 43rd in the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday and is now ranked sixth in Africa.
According to FIFA’s website, Argentina remains the highest-ranked team in the world, with Spain moving up one spot to second place, while France drops to third.
England and Brazil retain their fourth and fifth positions, respectively, while the Netherlands move up to sixth, pushing Portugal down to seventh. Belgium, Italy, and Germany occupy the eighth, ninth, and tenth places.
On the African continent, Morocco has moved two places ahead of Senegal to claim the top spot in Africa and is now ranked 12th in the world. Senegal, now second in Africa, is ranked 19th globally.
Meanwhile, 32nd-ranked Egypt and 36th-ranked Algeria have each moved up one place to third and fourth in Africa, respectively. Current African champions Côte d'Ivoire have jumped five places to 41st globally and are now fifth in Africa.
Nigeria is two places behind the African champions at 43rd globally and sixth in Africa, followed by Tunisia, which has moved up three spots to 49th and is seventh among Confederation of African Football (CAF) teams.
The next FIFA rankings will be released on July 10.
