According to a statement by the Director of Team Nigeria to the Homeless World Cup, Yomi Kuku, this collaboration marks a significant milestone for the Homeless World Cup Foundation.

"This aligns with its mission to challenge existing social perceptions and improve people's lives globally," he said.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino noted that FIFA shares the view of the HWCF.

Infantino said, “I am delighted to announce that with 50 days to go until the next edition of the Homeless World Cup, FIFA has signed an agreement to partner with the Homeless World Cup Foundation (HWCF) in organizing annual women’s and men’s tournaments aimed at helping homeless people change their lives.

“The #HomelessWorldCup is a perfect example of how football can bring people together to challenge existing social perceptions and improve people's lives.

“FIFA is excited to contribute because we share the view of the Homeless World Cup Foundation that football is a force for good.

“Starting from the upcoming edition in Seoul, FIFA will contribute to ensuring that this tournament continues to make a real impact by supporting homeless people all across the world," he said.

Meanwhile, the Director of Team Nigeria to the Homeless World Cup, Yomi Kuku, praised Homeless World Cup President Mel Young for his efforts in securing the partnership with FIFA.

“This partnership will help amplify the message and impact of the Homeless World Cup, bringing attention to the important work being done to support homeless and vulnerable individuals through football.

“It is also pleasing to know that the upcoming Homeless World Cup games will be broadcast on FIFA+, which I believe will provide global reach and exposure for the tournament.

“It will also increase visibility for the social causes and issues addressed by the Homeless World Cup," he said.

The upcoming edition of the Homeless World Cup is scheduled from September 21 to September 28 in Seoul, South Korea.

It will bring together 60 teams from 49 countries, comprising 40 teams in the men's tournament and 20 teams in the women's tournament, with more than 500 players participating.

The tournament will be jointly broadcast on FIFA+.
