FCTA to Construct 2 Multi-Sport Centres in Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has approved the construction of two multi-event sports centres in Abuja.

 

Mr. Richard Dauda, acting Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), disclosed this while briefing the press after the FCT Executive Council Meeting on Monday.

 

Though Dauda did not disclose the locations of the centres, he stated that the sites would be strategic.

 

He explained that the two sports centres would include several facilities, such as football pitches, lawn tennis courts, table tennis, indoor sports facilities, and other essential amenities.

 

“This is in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu, particularly as it relates to young people, youth development, and the physical and mental well-being of the citizens of the city,” he said.

 

“The centres, when fully developed, will be open to all citizens for use, ensuring they are well-utilized for the well-being of the people,” he added.

 

Dauda explained that two companies had been awarded the contracts.
