Exclusive: Former Golden Eaglets' shot stopper, Adeleye in race for "Goalkeeper of The Year" in Israel

On the heels of his superlative performances for his club, Hapoel Jerusalem, a former Golden Eaglets safe hands, Adebayo Adeleye has been nominated for the "Goalkeeper of the year" in the Israeli premier league this season.
Africa Sport Network (ASN) reports that Adeleye was the number 1 goalkeeper for the Golden Eaglets class of 2017 and was part of the team to the U-20 team before receiving a call-up to the national team in June 2022.
Adeleye started his professional football career when he joined B-United Football Academy, a local clubside based in Alimosho Local Government of Lagos State, thereafter, he moved to Hapoel Katamon in Israel.
Adeleye made his senior debut for Hapoel Jerusalem in 2019, a match against Hapoel Rishon LeZion.
He was instrumental to his club's promotion to Israel Premier Leagu3 when he garnered 19 clean sheets that season.
Adeleye was also instrumental for team Hapoel Jerusalem's qualifying for the league playoff.
For 2022/2023 season, Adeleye was to keep 10 clean sheets in 29 matches and top teams in Europe are already looking in his direction.
He was nominated alongside Omri Glazer (Hapoel Beer Sheva), Daniel Peretz (Maccabi Tel Aviv), Yoav Gerafi (FC Ashdod), John Cohen (Maccabi Haifa) and Itamar Nitzan (Maccabi Netanya).
Since joining Hapoel in 2019 Adeleye has kept 51 clean sheets in 120 matches.
